Visiting Kyaikhtiyo is one of the bucket lists to do for most Myanmar devout Buddhists in their lifetime. Not only do Buddhist pilgrims come here from far and wide to worship but also it attracts the tourists in droves. There are two ways to reach at the top of the hill. If you are an enthusiastic and keen hiker, you can start walking from the base camp, Kinpun but it is a long and exhausting journey for some, taking at least 5 hours. Or you can choose more comfortable option by taking a truck up to the mountain from the base camp whilst enjoying the scenic beauty of nature across the rain forest along the way. A few small stunning water falls can be seen in some seasons on your way up to the top. The pagoda is a quite spectacular sight, especially at sunrise and sunset, with people praying, lighting candles and making offerings. We can assure you that the stunning panoramic view from the nearby platform of this Golden Rock will be one of your unforgettable moments in your life.
